It's time now for Centophile in sixty and as we
break down, I'll give you my top three winners and losers.
JD of the Academy Awards number one winners of course,
A Nora we don't need to belabor the point. But
five Academy Awards of six nominations, and Sean Baker the
first ever to win four rosters. Again we've discussed this.

I think it's a great film. And as Talis said,
marginalized communities getting there their day in the sun. Let's
get to Conan because I think Conan is one of
the winners of the night. I thought he was really funny.
One of my favorite jokes the night was when Flow
won for Best Animated Film. He said, this is the
first ever win for Latvia, Balls in your Court, Estonia,
And then later on first ever black Man won for

costume design and he goes, what a historic moment, Balls
in your Court, Estonia.

Great line.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
That's the kind of clever equiption you need. Good writers,
very Letterman as sensibility. Love the video Martin Scorsese cameo,
tell them Marty sent you.

Was great.

Love the fact he addressed the controversy and involving Carlos
via guests Colinmilie Perez only when dropping more f in
the movie of Norris her publicist joke at Conclave and Catholics.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
I thought Conam was fabulous. And the third biggest.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Winner was the brutalist winning the three Oscars and probably
should have.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
We'll get the best actor in a second. Adrian Brody wins.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
An insufferably terrible speech Guinness World Record for the longest
speech ever, and it was awful. He came across his
arrogant when he said, I've been here before. He's dating
Harvey Weinstein's X. But I love the wins for the score,
Daniel Bloomberg and the cinematography fantastic, So two deserved wins.
The losers are complete unknown, all these baby boomers loving it.
I know tal liked it, oh for eight I love
James Mangle, but it's not that good. Shouldn't want an

Oscar nomination was the win. Congratulations, Sorry for timiditates shallow
may he'll win an Oscar one day. Of course, he
did not get his moment, I was curious about changing
my pick on the Flyso they really do love shallow
may Sandler's playing to him.

The Colins jokes are about him. But Brody does win.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
The substance also a loser one for him, give me
more devastating loss. She could not hide her disappointment. Clearly
this was her oscar, this was her moment. She tried
to smile through it. But mikey matis a twenty five
year old. Essentially, this is the plot of the Substance.
An older act actress gets phased up by Dangra Hotter
actress and she also played the strip for previously in
the stripteas This is the movie and this is happening

in real life. She's devastated and the number one biggest
loser and don't cut this towel is the Israeli government
all along, no other land has been the best winner
out there, that wins best documentary, Israeli Palestinian collective. This
is not a society which has always been very pro Palestine,
and yet that movie wins.

It's an Israeli Palastine collective.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Vanessa redgre Back in nineteen seventy eight minute pro Palestine
statement to not go over well. I was so happy
it won Best Documentary, absolutely deserved to win. You should
all go see No Other Land. This is a documentary
that was not getting any distribution. All of a sudden,
you win an Academy Award, You're gonna get distribution. It's
an incredible film. I hope people see it, and most importantly,
it helped me beat David Sampson and our head to head.
For anybody who watched on the Dan Lebtard Show, we

I went seventeen to twenty three. He went fourteen.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
He picked the Ukraine War Porcelain Land, which is another nomination.
I said, no body, we're gonna go pro Palestine, Israeli government.
One of the losers of the night talk to me
about Ai and Adrian Brody.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Well the Ukraine one people soured on Zelensky, so we
you know it's what but I digress, Well, no, folks,
you know, I to your point on the substance. I
wanted to say quickly that plot was freaking Oh no.
I sent you that clip of that woman talking about
me like this is the plot of the substance. We're
living in the matrix and I was like, Jesus, we

are I'm freaked out. And then more proof of that
Skynet is here the terminator. You know. I looked at
my wife, who's who's got her sad card, and I said,
why the hell did you guys even do a strike?
Cause you're gonna go, you do a strike. And then
the the actor of the Year that wins, an Oscar,

is a guy that had his voice modified by AI.
So the thing that you're trying to keep out is
the thing that you are now, Like put that in
a context for me, like I don't even understand. Like
I heard that little nugget and I was like, wait
a minute. Timothy Shallome, who did the old school way
of it. He went out, learned how to sing, he

did all the nuanced sing, put on weight, gained weight,
did everything to learn how to be Bob Dylan, get
into the skin of Bob Dylan. True, true, true, in
its truest acting, purest form. Does it beautifully? Did it great? Obviously?
I agree with you. The movie was good. I don't
think it was Academy Award correct winning good. But then

you go to this guy, Adrian Brody, who is insufferable
too with that speech and his wife he's dating, Harvey
Win seemed weird, and then he goes and all the
while his voice is Hungarian accent was shaped by Ai
riddle me that.
