Look at the Giants depth chart and as we now
open the month of May, I'd like to know, is
there a particular position, a particular unit, positional room that
you'd like to add to. Now, there will be some
undrafted rookie free agents coming in. We know about the
lists that have been reported, but as we've told you,
one hundred times, maybe even a thousand times. Until those

guys take their physicals and sign their contracts. Number one,
we cannot talk about them. Number two, they're not officially Giants, Okay,
so let's get that off the table. Maybe the reported
list does include a position that you're really anxious to
add to, and that's fine. We can't talk about those
names though, until those guys are signed. Now, having said that,

we had discussed going into the draft for months between
free agency and then the selection process. The kinds of
guys the Giants should be looking for, the positions they
should be looking for, the kinds of players they should
be looking for. And the truth of the matter is,
fellas and ladies out there, I think the Giants have

pretty much checked all the boxes in terms of places
that were really thin. Now there's always room for improvement.
I'm not going to sit here and tell everybody, neither
will you, that this team is ready to go Week
one and they're going to the super Bowl.

We're not telling people.

That, okay, But as you look at this roster realistically
and you determine the positions where you'd like some more
competition or some more depth. In fact, I'm gonna let
you go first. You can certainly identify one of the
positional rooms that you would be like, oh, you know,

if they could add this kind of player, well, maybe
two of this kind of player. You know, maybe there's
somebody that kind of you know, ticks off your fancy.
You don't have to think there's names of players. You
can just tell us the room and what component you'd
like to add to the room.

I'm gonna let you go first, Okay. For me, I
feel like there's one position came to mind right away
as soon as you presented me this question. Just want
to reiterate it. As you said, I don't think there's
any position now following the draft class that is a
need to add. Again, as you said, I don't think

I'm not saying this team's ready to go out, you know,
win a super Bowl tomorrow. But there's no glaring hole
or any position where I'm like they need to, like
have to add another body. I think the draft class
kind of accomplished that with a couple of the positions
that I might have thought that about, you know, this
time ten days ago. That being said, the position that

I'm thinking, and I did think that the Giants would
add a player at this position. I was thinking day
three of the draft would be wide receiver. Me too.
We agree, we.

Agree, but do we agree on the same type of
component that you'd like to put in the room.

Though I guess we'll we may not have to find out. Well,
I know you obviously like your skyscrapers. I do, But
I do think that there is a player that the
Giants already signed this offseason that kind of fits that
skyscraper role, and that would be little Jordan Humphrey from Denver.
From Denver, He's that six' four two twenty five big bodied.

Receiver SO i don't really think that's the type of
receiver The giants. Need, AGAIN i shouldn't say need could
afford to. Add So i'm going to go instead and,
say sort of like that shifty slot, receiver because outside
Of Wandel, robinson there's no one else really on the
roster that fits that build of a wide. Receiver, now,

again the un drafted guys that may or may not
be coming in or signing over the next week or,
so maybe one of those guys fits that you know
build for a receiver a little bit. More but right,
now the guys that are actually signed to the, Roster
wandell's really the only. One and Obviously wandell is gonna

be the, starting you, know slot receiver for The giants this,
season but he doesn't really have any. Competition you look
back the last couple of, years whether it was bringing
in you, Know Cole, beasley bringing in Jameson, crowd or,
like there were guys that The giants brought in to
at least not only compete With. Wandell but, obviously when
you go through these, OTAs when you go through training,

camp you can't Have wandell taking every single snap right
at you, know in the. Slot you need to have
guys that can come in and you, know take some
of the load off of him and also compete, because
as we, know injuries happen and if you, Know god,
forbid If wandell were to suffer some sort of injury
and miss some Time i'm during training, camp you would

need someone to then step into the quote unquote starting.
Role so that would be the type of RECEIVER i
would be looking at the, position and the type of
receiver THAT i would be looking.

At, Okay So Montreal washington does not factor into your
equation at.

ALL i, MEAN i, guess BUT i The giants signed
him as to a futures deal right after The Super.
Bowl he's obviously he is on the, team but, like
it's not someone that HAS i guess a long proven track.
RECORD i would want to bring in someone more of
a veteran slot receiver that has, oh, okay experience under their.

Belts so you're not even thinking about the undrafted. Class
you want to go get a guy who's got a
resume in this.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
League, yeah Like, Okay fair on the same lines of
like the Cole beasleys and jameson. Crowd obviously those pickups
didn't necessarily work out for The, Giants but that's the
type of RECEIVER i would be thinking of bringing. In
between now and they started Trading.

Gap AND i understand, that because you, know we've talked
in the last few months about The giants need to
enhance the depth at. Corner they did wind up getting
one In black in the seventh, round And Joe shane
has told us they believe he can compete for defensive.
Snaps SO i kind of THINK i wouldn't mind grabbing

a veteran corner at some point at the end of the.
Summer that would have been my other as somebody who
could kind of just enhance the depths as a safety,
net if you. Will but my number one thought is wide.

DIFFERENCE i think where you AND i are going to
be a different page, here because also you could use
a big slot.

Price Ford wheaton can also help out potentially in the
wide receiver. Room so they've got two guys With humphrey
And Ford wheaton who give them some of that skyscraper.
ASPECT i don't think it's such a bad idea if
they can find somebody out there who's got some good play.
Speed i'm not talking about forty. Times we know forty

times could be. Deceiving i'd like to see maybe another
guy in the, room and it may come from the
undrafted rookie guys who has really good play speed that
can potentially put up like fifteen yards a, catch and
if it means getting some yak, yardage you, know AND
i know there's a gentleman out there who has been

reported to be one of the undrafted rookie free agents
who has that kind of number in terms of his. Catchability,
yes he apparently did play with one of The giants' draft,
Choices SO i understand where you're. Going and you know,
what maybe he's that, guy but he's not, here hasn't,
signed he's not. Here he could be that guy if

he passes his physical and he. Signs so we're not
going to mention, names but, certainly you know, what that
might make me feel a little bit better about the
receiver's room BECAUSE i wouldn't mind seeing a little more
depth at the speed and, yeah yard did you have
to catch category out of the? Room fair?

YOU i will put a little disclaimer BEFORE i. Start
the blue kool aid is slowing right after the. Draft
but AM i crazy to think that The giants are
a much better team than national media and everyone is talked.
TO i want to go to the when you guys
talk about over unders On Daniel jones back in the last.
(13:34):
Years now we Have Russell. Wilson the over under On
Russell wilson has to start at around three thousand yards
twenty five. Touchdowns Every giants team that had over a
quarterback with over three thousand yards and over twenty five
touchdowns was in the. Playoffs SO i don't, know it
just seems like we're getting a big jump back.

QUARTERBACK i do. AGREE i think we both agree that
the quarterback room is certainly upgraded and a pretty significantly
from where it was at this time last. YEAR i
too have, wondered you, know The giants have been, basically you,
know universally praised for this draft class this, YEAR i

have not found. One you, know we do this expert
grade the draft class after every, draft and this, year
more so than in previous, years just about every grade
was you, know A a plus a minus like very
good grades among the. Best but then you look at
the same outlets putting out there like power, rankings and

you see that thirty one the best draft class or
one of the best draft classes didn't really impact The
giants in their power, rankings which doesn't exactly add up
in my. EYE i don't really get it.

Either you know, why, though because they're looking at At dart's
value and he makes the draft class have a GRADE a,
right because that's part of. It but he's not going
to play this. Year he should be a red.

Shirt to be honest, though BECAUSE i AGAIN i put
together this experts grade article for giants dot Com dart
that the pick Of dart that was not the main
reason why The giants seemed to be getting these high.
Grades it seemed to be even more so the rest
of the class and how a lot of the other
guys could have an impact right. Away, well then that

does not compute exactly. Exactly that's Why i'm, SAYING i
know you doesn't really put that stuff. Together of, course
you can't really evaluate a draft class until a couple
of years down the. Road but nonetheless that it doesn't
stop everyone from putting out these grades less than twenty

doesn't really exactly add up how you can praise the
draft class so much and, say, oh most of these
guys are going to have an impact right, away but
that also say but we don't think it's gonna move
the needle at.

up too many big plays in the, secondary which is
why they invested a lot of money in it during free,
agency and they have also now invested some capital in
getting guys into that front. Seven, now the pass rush
was good last, year but the rush defense in the
front seven was.

SURE i, mean The giants allocated most of their serious
assets this offseason towards boosting the defense and all over the,

that you, know he genuinely believed that with better quarterback,

play the offense would have looked a lot better last.
Year and he, said you, know he didn't want to
say that The giants were a quarterback away from all
of a sudden being like a you, know true contender
for The Super, bowl but he did explicitly SAY i
think with better quarterback play the offense will be a lot,
better and clearly you believe that because you look at

the moves made this. Offseason there obviously were some positions
at you, know the offensive line depth was boosted with
some of the signings in free. Agency but as you,
said the, pick the pick Of Jackson, dart that's a
more long term. Thing, yea necessarily this. Season and THEN

that's not you, know A day three pick isn't exactly

WHAT i would call major asset allocation towards the. Offense it's.

of putting his money where his mouth was by you,
know there were not significant changes made to the, offense

SAID i think with better quarterback, play the offense as

dable AND i feel Like Brian dable hasn't had the

a versatile, coach and he's not like set into one,
system where's going to be, this this or. This he's
going to work off the quarterback he. Had BUT i
Think Brian dable has ideas of an offense that he

wants to create that he has never had the ability to.
Do And i'm just, SAYING i think he might be
able to shock people with an actual competent. Quarterback he's
gonna use some of the Stuff Russell wilson is good.
At Russell wilson has a full, offseason he's not, injured
no injuries or worries about competitions for a quarterback. PLAYS
i just think THAT i don't WANT i don't want

to put a shot Against Daniel jones BECAUSE i Love Daniel,
jones BUT i feel like he did really limit the.
Offense and if you're A giants fan and you watch those,
games there are plays where wide receivers are wide.

Stuff So, jay that's, yeah that part of it is.
Pointless but here's WHAT i will tell, you and thanks
for the. Call in terms of the, defense they've improved
the talent. Level in, turn that will help the efficiency
because of the rotation that you talked about a couple
of minutes. Ago they have also improved the special, teams

and we discussed this, yesterday which helps tilt The they've
improved their offense specifically by addressing the quarterback situation and
also the running back. Room so you put all of
these things soon into a new, creation and you say
this plus this plus this plus this plus, this by

the very nature of the game and complimentary, football it
will make the defense that much better.

Too, yeah the offense being able to sustain, drives give
the defense a breather and actually put up, points so
the defense isn't always playing from. Behind obviously that will
be a would be a huge boost to the defense.
Alone and then you add in all the talent that
was added to the defensive side of the, ball and again
at all three. LEVELS i know The giants added defensive.

Tackles they obviously Added Abdul carter on the, edge linebacker
depth with some of those you, know special teams guys
that are going to get some snaps in linebacker as,
well and then obviously the. Secondary so there was talent
added at every single level of the. Defense but just
one point that the caller made and just BECAUSE i
just saw this tweet and it's fitting for this. Conversation,

yeah last this past, Season Malik neighbors led THE nfl
in getting. OPEN espn has this metric open. Score, okay
he was number one in THE. Nfl he's the first
rookie to lead the league in this metric since it
was created in twenty. Seventeen and this.

Is percentage of routes he got open or the amount
of space he got opened.

For SO i think he send it percentage of routes
that he was able to get. Open he led the,
league and he had a great season the league obviously

at the quarterback.

Exactly so, now with what should be some much improved quarterback,
play with a healthy offensive, line with all of the
young Playmakers aroundlik And malik himself getting another year of
experience under their, BELT i think we could see the
offense take a big jump this.

Year and we should not forget the fact That Tyrone
tracy is still a, young budding running back who wasn't
converted to running back from receiver until after his couple
of years in.

of his, comps, right and then also just knowing that
there's he's one of two blue chip players in that draft,
Class Joe shane didn't overthink. It let's take the guy
and then come back for the quarterback if we. Can

overthinking it type of. Standpoint the sleeper, pick it's gotta Be.

FIDONI i know everyone keeps saying, that but the measurables
on this. GUY i know he's had the two, acls
but the fact that he was coming out of high,
school you, know with a higher grade Than Brock. BAUERS i,
mean if this guy can can translate into THE, nfl
apparently he blocks pretty well. TOO i haven't watched any
of his tape or anything like. THAT i just FROM i
consume a lot of lot of like podcasts and media
that you guys put. Out so just from What i've,

heard it's like there's there's potential, there AND i think
like a lot of people had him as like A
day two Early day three, pick and to get him
in the seventh is just. Incredible So i'm going MUST

go out there and whoop their, opponent, like not only beat,
them but beat them. Badly and that is a sort
of swagger and attitude and edge that we haven't really

open the month of May, I'd like to know, is
there a particular position, a particular unit, positional room that
you'd like to add to. Now, there will be some
undrafted rookie free agents coming in. We know about the
lists that have been reported, but as we've told you,
one hundred times, maybe even a thousand times. Until those

guys take their physicals and sign their contracts. Number one,
we cannot talk about them. Number two, they're not officially Giants, Okay,
so let's get that off the table. Maybe the reported
list does include a position that you're really anxious to
add to, and that's fine. We can't talk about those
names though, until those guys are signed. Now, having said that,

free agency and then the selection process. The kinds of
guys the Giants should be looking for, the positions they
should be looking for, the kinds of players they should
be looking for. And the truth of the matter is,
fellas and ladies out there, I think the Giants have

pretty much checked all the boxes in terms of places
that were really thin. Now there's always room for improvement.
I'm not going to sit here and tell everybody, neither
will you, that this team is ready to go Week
one and they're going to the super Bowl.

We're not telling people.

That, okay, But as you look at this roster realistically
and you determine the positions where you'd like some more
competition or some more depth. In fact, I'm gonna let
you go first. You can certainly identify one of the
positional rooms that you would be like, oh, you know,

if they could add this kind of player, well, maybe
two of this kind of player. You know, maybe there's
somebody that kind of you know, ticks off your fancy.
You don't have to think there's names of players. You
can just tell us the room and what component you'd
like to add to the room.

I'm gonna let you go first, Okay. For me, I
feel like there's one position came to mind right away
as soon as you presented me this question. Just want
to reiterate it. As you said, I don't think there's
any position now following the draft class that is a
need to add. Again, as you said, I don't think

I'm not saying this team's ready to go out, you know,
win a super Bowl tomorrow. But there's no glaring hole
or any position where I'm like they need to, like
have to add another body. I think the draft class
kind of accomplished that with a couple of the positions
that I might have thought that about, you know, this
time ten days ago. That being said, the position that
(03:56):
I'm thinking, and I did think that the Giants would
add a player at this position. I was thinking day
three of the draft would be wide receiver. Me too.
We agree, we.

Agree, but do we agree on the same type of
component that you'd like to put in the room.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Though I guess we'll we may not have to find out. Well,
I know you obviously like your skyscrapers. I do, But
I do think that there is a player that the
Giants already signed this offseason that kind of fits that
skyscraper role, and that would be little Jordan Humphrey from Denver.
From Denver, He's that six' four two twenty five big bodied.

Receiver SO i don't really think that's the type of
receiver The giants. Need, AGAIN i shouldn't say need could
afford to. Add So i'm going to go instead and,
say sort of like that shifty slot, receiver because outside
Of Wandel, robinson there's no one else really on the
roster that fits that build of a wide. Receiver, now,
(04:57):
again the un drafted guys that may or may not
be coming in or signing over the next week or,
so maybe one of those guys fits that you know
build for a receiver a little bit. More but right,
now the guys that are actually signed to the, Roster
wandell's really the only. One and Obviously wandell is gonna
(05:19):
be the, starting you, know slot receiver for The giants this,
season but he doesn't really have any. Competition you look
back the last couple of, years whether it was bringing
in you, Know Cole, beasley bringing in Jameson, crowd or,
like there were guys that The giants brought in to
at least not only compete With. Wandell but, obviously when
you go through these, OTAs when you go through training,
(05:41):
camp you can't Have wandell taking every single snap right
at you, know in the. Slot you need to have
guys that can come in and you, know take some
of the load off of him and also compete, because
as we, know injuries happen and if you, Know god,
forbid If wandell were to suffer some sort of injury
and miss some Time i'm during training, camp you would
(06:02):
need someone to then step into the quote unquote starting.
Role so that would be the type of RECEIVER i
would be looking at the, position and the type of
receiver THAT i would be looking.

At, Okay So Montreal washington does not factor into your
equation at.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
ALL i, MEAN i, guess BUT i The giants signed
him as to a futures deal right after The Super.
Bowl he's obviously he is on the, team but, like
it's not someone that HAS i guess a long proven track.
RECORD i would want to bring in someone more of
a veteran slot receiver that has, oh, okay experience under their.

Belts so you're not even thinking about the undrafted. Class
you want to go get a guy who's got a
resume in this.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
League, yeah Like, Okay fair on the same lines of
like the Cole beasleys and jameson. Crowd obviously those pickups
didn't necessarily work out for The, Giants but that's the
type of RECEIVER i would be thinking of bringing. In
between now and they started Trading.

Gap AND i understand, that because you, know we've talked
in the last few months about The giants need to
enhance the depth at. Corner they did wind up getting
one In black in the seventh, round And Joe shane
has told us they believe he can compete for defensive.
Snaps SO i kind of THINK i wouldn't mind grabbing

a veteran corner at some point at the end of the.
Summer that would have been my other as somebody who
could kind of just enhance the depths as a safety,
net if you. Will but my number one thought is wide.

DIFFERENCE i think where you AND i are going to
be a different page, here because also you could use
a big slot.

ASPECT i don't think it's such a bad idea if
they can find somebody out there who's got some good play.

times could be. Deceiving i'd like to see maybe another
guy in the, room and it may come from the
undrafted rookie guys who has really good play speed that
can potentially put up like fifteen yards a, catch and
if it means getting some yak, yardage you, know AND
i know there's a gentleman out there who has been

reported to be one of the undrafted rookie free agents
who has that kind of number in terms of his. Catchability,
yes he apparently did play with one of The giants' draft,
Choices SO i understand where you're. Going and you know,
what maybe he's that, guy but he's not, here hasn't,
signed he's not. Here he could be that guy if

he passes his physical and he. Signs so we're not
going to mention, names but, certainly you know, what that
might make me feel a little bit better about the
receiver's room BECAUSE i wouldn't mind seeing a little more
depth at the speed and, yeah yard did you have
