Speaker 4 (00:44):
How y'all doing, ladies good?
Speaker 5 (00:45):
How about you good?
Speaker 6 (00:47):
I feel like Happy New Year.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
I didn't see you on New Year's Happy New Year.
Speaker 7 (00:50):
Oh, Tater Tots, we haven't seen each other.
Speaker 8 (00:54):
I know.
Speaker 6 (00:55):
Hello five to be good to us.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Please in the year, absolutely, and the Cowboy the gods,
the football gods, and the injuries.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Please, we're gonna call on them. Absolutely.
Speaker 6 (01:07):
But it's the end of the year, so I really
like it.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
Yeah, that would just be wait a while, that.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Would be horrible. Please don't put that.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Ricky, Bobby, Bobby, I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
WHOA all right?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
The Cowboys kicking off against the Commanders in a week
eighteen to wrap up lace season.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
See what I did there.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
He's on I'm screaming all right rematch from week twelve
where the Cowboys won in wild fashion because it was
three to three and a half and then all hell
broke loose in the second half. Pretty fun to watch,
all right. They have another chance to get back at
Washington and sweep them this season, but Washington already already
has clinched playoff birth with the wild card game. They've
(01:54):
won eleven games in a season for the first time
since nineteen ninety one. Even though it makes me want to.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Throw up, you know, it's hard to hear them in.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
The absolutely shout out to d Shout out to DQ
for going up there and taking over that program, that
and changing the culture. But specifically, they have a quarterback
that they drafted who's a rookie and playing like a vet.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Let's talk about him, James.
Speaker 7 (02:17):
James.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
What you'all like for him?
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Everything?
Speaker 6 (02:21):
His arm obviously, yeah, it's for me.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
It's just the ability to move in and outside the pocket,
the decision making, he has, the the it factor when.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
He gets the ball in his hands.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
He's made plays, latent games and one games for them
with his performance. I just think, you know, one thing
we loved about Dak when he first came in was
the poise, the control. He exemplifies that as well, and
so for him to have that this young in his career,
and then that shows and how he performs against the
blitz and those you know, most people say like, Okay,
well you know he just blitz a rookie.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
He's like, all right, like it. Let's he can read.
Speaker 7 (02:57):
He reads defense as well, so that just lets you
know he's committed. I think that they've done things to
put people around.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
Him clearly and stuff.
Speaker 7 (03:06):
Yeah, and that is and that has helped him thrive.
So I love and I'm gonna be very frank. I
love seeing another black quarterback coming the league young, show
that he can be a pocket pass or show he
can do things outside the pocket, kind of breaking some
of those again, continue the trend of breaking a lot
of those preconceived notions is about those type of guys,
and I think that I support.
Speaker 6 (03:27):
What he's doing is hard. He's in the division.
Speaker 7 (03:29):
I hate it, but I love seeing young quarterbacks come
in and grow.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
I'm a fan and seeing that, you know, the rookie
rushing records, you know. I mean what he's done athleticism
is quick release, like you said, I mean, he thrives
off those blitzes and reading the defense, and he's got
such like that calm and cool collective. He never seems
like he gets really rattle, which I think is a
lot to say when you know, concerning he's a rookie.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Yeah, but I mean it's like, I think he's one
of those examples that you really never know what somebody
is gonna be until they get in the situation that
they're going to be in, because there are so many
assumptions made about him and other guys in their draft
class that have just been proven to be all around wrong.
And when it came to him, you know, there were
some people who were saying he was going to be
(04:12):
more disappointing than people thought he was, that oh, he's
a rookie, like, yeah, he's doing well in college, but
he's not really going to thrive. But he's actually I
think he's gone above and beyond what a lot of
people said he was going to do. A lot of people,
not everybody. There were some people who got it right,
but there were a lot of people who kind of
just expected him to do the typical rookie thing, and
his decision making has been very impressive. And I think
(04:34):
I saw somebody on Twitter say, like they were quoting
a tweet that said, oh my god, what a throw
or something like that, and they were like, yeah, I
feel like somebody tweets this every single week about Jaden Dalales.
But it's facts though he's been he's been very impressive
this season.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
Oh, you had to deal with him, Oh, glad to
deal with him.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah, I got throwing the most touchdowns in fourth quarter
or in NFL history.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
That's It's not really disgusting, it's actually impressive.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
I mean, in his mobility.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
He wasn't in our division.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
I'd be like, he's a AFC, But what.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Were you saying, know his mobility? I mean, obviously he's
gotten the he's drawn the comparisons to Lamar Jackson and
the way that he's able to run the.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Football as well.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Do y'all like the fact that he's been compared to
Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
No, I don't like, just because it's so early. I'm
not a fan of those kind of comparisons so early.
I see where it comes from. Them, Yeah, And it's
to me, it's that anytime someone sees quarterback that can
do their thing in the pocket and also scramble, also run,
they try to compare them to like there's like a
group of quarterbacks and the players don't like that.
Speaker 7 (05:40):
And honestly, I said, being at the combine, every time
I heard people be like, you've been compared to this,
These young players don't like that.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
They want to be They.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
Want to write their own story right. And also to
Lamar Jackson is Lamar Jackson. The way he moves with
the ball in his hand is like second to none.
It's not normal.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
So I just am.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Like, if it were a situation where you could like
do a side by side and it's like, oh, they
run the same, Oh their release is the same, Oh
their footwork is the same. I could see somebody being like,
look at all these things, but really it's it's that
they're both running quarterbacks with strong arms and that one
other thing. But it's true.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
It's true.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
I was like, wait, what.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
That one important things?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
And it's like, oh, she's right.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
She is absolutely.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
Speaking of.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yay, what's something that y'all have noticed that since the
Cowboys saw him in week twelve, that he's improved on
the most that you've seen.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
It's a plate.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
It's tough to say because usually when we ask that question,
we're answering a question of like, oh, this is something
that they weren't good at and now.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
That they're Really it's something that he was good at
that he's just gotten better.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
And that's the thing with him. I feel like his
decision making has only gotten better. And I know that's
kind of hard to imagine because everyone was so impressed
already early in the season, but it's like you can
kind of tell that. Like I think early in the
season there were times where you know, his runs were
designed and he kind of had an idea of what
was going, but there were also times where sometimes he
(07:23):
did get a little frazzled. You know, the the NFL
defenses are are faster, a little bit more aggressive than
a lot of the defenses you'll see in college. And
now it's like you're not seeing nearly as much of that. Like,
so much of what he does seems to be from
a place of poise, from a place of control. So
for me and the amount that I've watched him, I
would say that's one of the things that I like.
(07:44):
I don't know if that's what he's improved on the most,
but that's just one of the things that I really
like about him.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
And one thing I noticed is that there was a time,
I don't know what week it was, I usually probably
know where it seemed like the defensive kind of caught
up with them, you know, they were able to dcs
or kind of kind of figure them out, and seemed
like he knew how to kind of change his game
and to keep elevating and figuring it out and working
on this game, because there was a time like, ah,
they're kind of you know what I mean, they're starting
to figure him out a little bit, and he knew
(08:10):
how to kind of plum.
Speaker 7 (08:12):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, I think part of it. I
think one thing I feel like he's done better at
and the team has overall, is and during that little
slump you remember, like him and Terry McLaurin was just
hitting all cylinders.
Speaker 6 (08:25):
What they started to do is just spread the.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
Ball around more like as a rookie sometimes you do
hone in on, like you get stuck on one target
or whatever.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
You're comfortable with that one target.
Speaker 7 (08:34):
But one thing I have noticed as to his ability
to finish his reads, and he's passing the ball around
and distributing it to the other guys.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
On the team.
Speaker 7 (08:41):
They work just you know, kind of spamming Terry McLaurin
at first. I think they've found more success spreading the
ball out at this point. I mean, and don't get
me wrong, Terry still his guy. Seventy one percent of
his passes go to him, but when necessary, he is
finding the other guys and I think that's important to
his growth as well. Shows that he's still patient but
going through its progressions too.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
How do you what do you take from last week?
Speaker 6 (09:07):
A little, not much, that's to case myself.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
What can the Cowboys take from last week that they
can bring into this week. As far as the defense
having to take on yeah, I know it's very hard
to say. But as far as having a take on
the Washington offense, it's obviously playing at a very high
level right now.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
Turnovers and that's one thing that everything was a big deal.
And maybe take the ball away. I mean, play for pride,
play for the for home field, you know.
Speaker 6 (09:38):
For me to play for.
Speaker 7 (09:39):
But there's something no, I agree, I would I would
be I would say to minimize your penalties. I mean,
Dallas got killed last week. Let me go look at
the exact number, but yeah, I mean that was something
that made a huge difference last week.
Speaker 6 (09:51):
It was eight.
Speaker 7 (09:52):
It was like eight for sixty nine or something or
like that. It was something with a carry the two.
But yeah, Dallas can definitely manate turnovers. This is a
it was a Yeah, this is a team that will
take advantage of your turnovers, just like Philly did. So
for me, I'm and their coach turnovers because we know
what that life is like. The same coaches is here anyway,
(10:14):
so for me, So for me, it's gonna be too obviously,
like Bonnie said, to not turn the ball over, but
also to don't shoot yourself in the foot with your penalties. Now,
it's gonna be a lot of we don't know what
this game is gonna look like it might be preseason
part two. So if that is the case, maybe those
this is the last game of the season, stuff get weird.
(10:35):
I'm sorry, Like, guys be out there playing for centers
and bonuses and stuff. Hopefully people play within them, yes
getting stuff on film.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Hopefully guys play with and.
Speaker 7 (10:46):
Don't commit a lot of penalties because they're pressing or
anything like that.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
Do you think they're even gonna my bad?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
I don't even give you a chance. Do you all
think that they're gonna actually play their starters? I know
that they obviously want to cleanch this number six seeds
the Commanders or the Commanders you feel me.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
They're still but they lost to you. They lost to you.
Speaker 7 (11:05):
Like the fact that the Cowboys beat them before, I
think means something.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
This is dq returning.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Have an injury considered. They could be playing the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
They're playing for seeding. They gotta they would much rather.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
I'm sure they would much rather play the Rams.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
Than like the Packers, is it whoever?
Speaker 7 (11:21):
It is like, Yo, they're trying to find the safest
route to the super Bowl, so I'm sure that they're
gonna play their guys. They might sit up, which is
another reason it might take us to.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
How aggressive they're going to be coming out. They might
want to get it over in the first half.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Exactly.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
And then because we don't know who Dallas is, but
we don't know yet, we don't know who's going to start.
You don't know how those things are going to go.
So it's like if if it's done with at a
certain amount of time. Y'all can see them sitting their
starters at that point, resting them not like that.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
I don't either. I want it to be a good game.
It's the last game of the season.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
But hm, I can't give you a chance into that
last question. I'm sorry, I just kind of like, what
was the question?
Speaker 5 (12:02):
What do we learn from last week?
Speaker 6 (12:05):
Could they bring defensively into this week?
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Based on what based on what happened last week?
Speaker 7 (12:11):
Bye?
Speaker 5 (12:14):
They started off with that, and now we'll move on
to a whole different topic. I's trying to remember, So
what can they bring defensively to this week?
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Because I had to like interject, because.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
It's think about that game.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
She's she is, No, I mean, it's it's tough to
think about what they would bring defensively that would yield
results worth discussing, honestly, Like, in a general sense, obviously,
the the most common things we want to stop the run.
We want to pay attention to what's happening with Terry.
As you said, he gets most of the targets, so
(12:50):
on and so forth. So I think overall, they're they're
definitely going to have to be on their toes. They're
going to have to be aggressive. I think the most
imporant thing is going to be to do what they can,
especially in terms of pass rush, to try to make
Jayden Daniels uncomfortable. And I don't know the likelihood of that.
I think they have the guys to be able to
(13:11):
do that, but yeah, I don't know. This is tough, y'all.
I'm sorry, it's tough.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
It's just because like no playoffs.
Speaker 7 (13:20):
Yeah, there's nothing, there's nothing much at stake.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
You know what I was really going through in my head,
I was like, wait, who is actually going to be playing?
Because there there's Yeah, there's a couple of people that
I'm like, is this person on good?
Speaker 6 (13:33):
I mean, I know one thing that they can do.
Speaker 7 (13:36):
One thing? What the last time these teams played, I
think Dallas has some success getting to the quarterback. They
were able to attack the left tackle and left guard.
Their right side of their offensive line is obviously there
the weaker pourt of their offensive line. Tabiotis is having
a hell of a year. Man having a hell of
(13:56):
a year. He said, I'm gonna show you so anyway,
I think one thing that Zimmer did last week, I
actually broke down some film on it was he used
stunts on the edge with Chauncey Ghoston and Michael Parsons.
People are gonna commit to stopping Michael Parsons. There was
even a play like that. It was third, third down.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
Philly was driving.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
I think it was seventeen to seven at that point
it was fourteen to seven if I'm not mistaken, Dallas
had the opportunity to well, Philly had the opportunity to
go score and come out in the half and get
the ball. And what Mike Zimmer did, He did a
stunt on the edge. He like literally three defender, three
offensive lineman went with Michael Parsons. He just looted Chauncey
Ghoson around and Chauncey Golson was.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Able to back that pass.
Speaker 7 (14:38):
That was a huge break that the Cowboys got to
go into the half only being down by two possessions.
I think if you want to win this game, you
do things like that, like fine favorable matchups across their
offensive line, because baby, last week you didn't even pinch nobody. Yeah,
this offensive line is not as good as I can't say,
(15:00):
but you can't.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
But yeah, I mean you.
Speaker 7 (15:03):
Are gonna have to get pressure on Jayde Daniels and
then getting pressure, you're gonna have to finish because he's slippery.
So I thought I just thought that, you know, he's
finding ways to Mike Zambra's been finding ways to find success.
Given some of the things he did last week, it'll
be perfect for this week. Attack their left tackle. Attack
attack that side because it's the weaker side, and maybe
you can affect the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
The last time they played, they had four sacks, but
Michael Parsons had two of them, the Marvin Overstown had one,
and I believe it was Josh Butler who had.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
The last one. So they're gonna be without two of
those guys. Bless the Lord.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
But again, Zimber's been cooking since that game. Actually, they
were obviously at the top of the league and takeaways
and getting to the quarterback, so a lot of success there.
Will see, well, Mike Zimber can cook up. We're gonna
switch gears, take our first break up. Next, we're gonna
talk offense. The stakes that are high for Cooper Rush
(15:59):
and trailing Horreconmore Girls, Star Boys Stock.
Speaker 3 (16:04):

At the practice before from today that was sitting out,
so I was trying to like squint my eyes and
see because these glasses supposed to work, but clearly by anyways,
all right, Uh for Thursday's practice, Nick Vigil, Quimon hall
An Opportunity, Bay T J. Bass Limited, Chemdoga Limited, Michael
Parsons Limited, Mozzie Smith Limited, Donovan Wilson Limited, and.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
They were all full.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
The rest of them were full participants. So any questions
or concerns on that practice report Thursday noon, kickoff Friday Saturday.
Speaker 7 (19:19):
Okay, So Teacher Basket moved to limited. He was limited
yesterday too, is limited like he's just on the course.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
Was you out there?
Speaker 5 (19:27):
M hm? You were out there, right?
Speaker 9 (19:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (19:28):
I was. I was out there, but I didn't I
didn't know I was see what he was doing.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
I'm just it ain't got nothing to do with nothing.
I'm sorry.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
Anyway, that was a male Lucas. Sorry, Yeah, it's not.
That's a pretty standard prectice report at this point.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yeah, limited, Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
What's wrong with uh toe? Still that toe? Let's hope
and bother him all year.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
That happens to those toe.
Speaker 7 (19:55):
Yeah, they're nagging because those pleats.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
I'm sure so I hope he feels better, but okay, anyway, Yeah,
no injury a standa injury report. Cooper Rush, Trey Lance
also will three quarterbacks. They are looking for an opportunity
to well. Cooper Rush has had many opportunities this year,
but the rest of those guys in that room looking.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
To show what they can do.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Hopefully on Sunday, no official ruling on who will be
the starting quarterback against the Commanders. But you look at
what Cooper Rush has done as a starter. He was
four and four average two hundred and nine point six
yards per game, eleven passing touchdowns, fourign receptions. And you
look at Trey Lance. Sorry, he's thrown five for seven
(20:38):
twenty two passing yards in fifteen rushing yards this season
obviously limited, very limited.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
He's gonna have to go to the UFL. No, No,
I think he does, y'all. Need he needs to get
some reps. And that's not even me being facetious.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
He really goes to a team that wants to develop
him before he goes to the UFL.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
I don't know. I think he go to the UFL.
I think he'll if you really think about it. He's
not really had a lot of like reps since high school, y'all,
because then COVID then he got heard, and then I'm
just saying, like, I just think he could excel there.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
And then if he had gone on the field and
shown that he just couldn't do it, I might agree
with you. But that's not the issue. He's literally not
being given opportunities. And there have been several times Mike
McCarthy himself said that he regretted him in that Texas game.
He said himself that he regretted not giving him more
drives in that last game they had. So as long
as we got coaches out here to talking about, yeah,
(21:26):
we should have played trade lance, but we didn't. And
there's gonna be another time, and we're gonna not do
it again. No, he needs is not bad.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
It's not bad thing to go to.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
It's developed. It is. It is a lower level in
terms of marketing, in terms of talent, in terms of competition,
and in terms of pain.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
I've watched him a lot.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
I think he can where they should go to the
UFL just because coaches won't give them playing time. So
either the Cowboys need to do right by him and
give him rested so he can develop, or he needs
to go somewhere else, especially not that his value has
lowered so much. Fiftyer option out the window exactly. He's
not about to have another year making five million dollars.
So like, I mean, he could go almost anywhere. Whoever
(22:06):
says that they're willing to develop him like for real
and actually mean it.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
But what was the point of getting him in the
fourth round pick and then they don't even even try?
Speaker 6 (22:14):
Well, that's that's what I don't get. Well, that's part
of it. That's part of it. Like I don't have nothing,
Like I know, I struggle with it.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Yeah, you may know what it was.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
I don't even know how to What.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
Jerry Jones said when they did it was that they
liked what they saw from him, and that it was
an opportunity to develop a quarterback that was drafted at
that level. I have to say that development, that's that's
the problem.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
I agree with.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
I hear what you're saying by.
Speaker 6 (22:38):
Jill with the UFL.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Yes, it does give players opportunities to become good.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
I know he's a higher level that. I'm just saying
the rep because his poor kid has not gotten reps absolutely.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
And it's breeded guys like a Cavante Turpin, like a
Brandon Aubrey.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
On our team.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
However, I agree with Jazz in the terms of this
kid has not gotten any like preseason does not count,
and when you're putting him in games that you're obviously
losing by thirty garbage time for two minutes, two minutes.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
It's not even long enough for him to warm up,
it's not.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
It's disrespectful at that point.
Speaker 7 (23:18):
I mean, I think, I mean for me, I just.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
I think it also messes with I don't know. I'm
not gonna speak for him. This is my opinion. I
believe that that messes with your confidence too, So it
kind of concerns me, Like if he does get the
start this week, where is he mentally because yeah, you've
worked with these guys in practice, you've built that chemistry
and practice, but you haven't gotten game reps. And he
(23:42):
hasn't gotten really hardly any game reps in the NFL.
And then for it to be at this type of
stake where you're only on a one year deal having
to go prove yourself in one game, really.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
And when they ask McCarthy, you know, he always says, yeah, ready, well,
the Cowways brought him in.
Speaker 7 (24:02):
The Coways brought him in because they evaluated him, and
they like people they evaluate.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
They trust their scouting.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
They wanted to prove prove point like sorry, like I've
seen them do it plenty of times, and I'm pretty
sure they looked at him was like this is And
I get that it's an opportunity to get a player
that was high on their board at.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
Some point in time.
Speaker 7 (24:20):
Okay, fine, but to y'all's point, you cannot expect I
agree with what both of y'all are saying in a
sense of like, I don't like that they have handled
him this way because realistically, who is going who has
time to develop him? That's true, don't nobody these coaches
on what year deals. Baby, they're trying to develop the uh.
Speaker 6 (24:40):
Stuff, I'm going to kick you out.
Speaker 7 (24:44):
I'm being that's crazy. They're trying to develop their resume
so they they don't have time to And that's yes,
and that's why we saw We saw them do comfort
(25:05):
things as far as some of the guys they played
and didn't play and stuff, because these guys are trying
to win as much games as possible.
Speaker 6 (25:11):
These coaches, they are also put in there.
Speaker 7 (25:13):
We're talking about players putting film out there, these coaches
are also put in their resume out there and you can't.
It's it's probably that they went with the safest pick,
which is Cooper.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
Rush, but really they played him so much in the
preseason tray and then it's.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
Just that I think that's when there was I think
that's when they were giving him his shot, but realistically
did just like we've seen with Rico as the season
is going on, his vision, his patience, his timing, his rhythm,
he is not going to be able to find that
and I'm gonna do you one better.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
Like I personally didn't like even how the the forty
nine ers handled them.
Speaker 7 (25:48):
Yeah, like he has been I personally feel like he
has experienced a level of neglect in the NFL with once.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
They realized that they liked Rock Party, which they realized
long before Brock Party actually became the starter. That was
our record. That article came out in February, or one
of the assistant coaches or maybe a coordinator, somebody in
that building acknowledged that they were already looking at Brock
Party to be a starter before Trey Lance ever even
suffered that ankle injury. So once he got hurt, it
(26:18):
was pretty much game over him. They knew who they
wanted and they essentially did not care. You know, I'm
not trying to like claim that, but their attitude, their
actions that they did not care then he came there.
And granted Trey Lance did struggle in the preseason, I'm
not trying to take that away or pretend like that
didn't happen. However, even with Cooper Rush himself, how many
(26:38):
times have we heard Schottenheimer, have we heard Mike McCarthy
get behind that podium and be like, Yeah, Cooper Rush
is improving because our own line is improving. Cooper Rush
is improving because our running game is improving. Cooper Rush
is improving because of conversations that he's had with other
wide receivers and the familiarity he has those targets. Now, Oh,
Cooper Rush is actually getting on the same page with
CD Lamb. So he's had all these opportunities to do
(27:01):
things that were needed for him to improve. But then
when it comes to train Lands, it's like, oh, he
just we like Cooper Rush, Like, oh yeah, everybody's ready
to play, but we like Cooper Rush. We like what
you've seen from him.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
Really Okay, cool, No, I it's I think that they had.
I think they had opportunities to where they could have
played him in these games, given him opportunities. Honestly, baby
go wild out every now and then just throw him
in there. I'm very curious to see what happens with
him next. I'm very curious to see because on the
(27:32):
other side of things, we're saying, like why isn't he playing?
Speaker 6 (27:34):
Why is he playing?
Speaker 7 (27:35):
What the coaches are saying about him being ready and stuff?
Forgive me, it could just be lip service.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
They could they could just think. They could just think
like the kid can't play, and we're not going to
and if we're not going to play, it, don't see
a future and.
Speaker 7 (27:48):
We're just and I think that might be unfortunate.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Is lip service, then they should find There are so
many ways to present the idea that a quarterback is struggling.
You could say things like, oh, we like what we're
seeing from him in terms of development, However, we don't
believe he's the best choice for this game, or we
like what we're seeing from him and he's moving in
the right direction. However, we don't think that he's the
(28:13):
right fit for this offense, whatever it is. But what
they've been saying is, oh, he's ready to play. So
if he's not ready to play, they should stop saying that.
Speaker 6 (28:20):
I agree, and that's why everyone is.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
That's why we're having this conversation right now in the
first place, because there's nothing conclusive.
Speaker 6 (28:29):
We have no.
Speaker 7 (28:29):
Idea can he play, can he not play? What the
coaches think about him?
Speaker 6 (28:34):
Does he is? He just not a scheme fit. We
don't know any.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
And I think if it weren't for him being so
neglected throughout the course of his career, it might not
even be a conversation because we're not having the same
conversation about Will Greer and Will Greer was on his
way to being one of the backups for the Cowboys
before he was dismissed for Trey Lance. Right, But people
aren't as concerned because Will Gear wasn't a high draft pick.
(28:59):
He didn't have a twenty something point whatever million dollars
fifth year option on the table. Shane Lance did. And
he's lost all of that and cod injuries and.
Speaker 7 (29:10):
He's just I just I just think he is, like
he's just lost in the sauce, like and not him.
He's not lost like his his career has been lost
in the sauce because other because teams have prioritized other things,
like you are saying, like right now, the Cowboys prioritized winning,
They prioritized you know, they they're he's not like developing
(29:31):
him is not something that these teams have been able
to stop and do, which sucks because what that's what
you job.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
But what you're describing as an NFL trend, it's not
just a Cowboys strenth. So yes, it's their job, but
it's like when you have a culture, a league white
culture that says winning money, microwaving.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
The developing quarterbacks like, no one sits like that, No
one sits behind a starting quarterback anymore.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
When that used to be the norm.
Speaker 7 (29:59):
Everyone and expects rookie quarterbacks to come in and be
microwave and be good.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
It's a problem. They had a promising quarterback who admittedly
didn't need development, and they got him targets, but they
didn't get him a new line and they had him
with a Lane duck coach who they fired halfway through
the season. Now everybody's like, why is off and struggling?
Maybe he's not what he thought he was, And I'm like,
look at these look at the situation he's in saying that.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
One thing I did love about the guys in the
locker room is that one they love Cooper Rush. They
love what he's done in the season this year, but
no matter who starts, if it is Trey Lance, they're
behind him like they are trying to just instill that
confidence of him because some of them can relate to
him like not getting the same type of opportunities as
(30:46):
guys that are playing in front of him playing in
front of them. So I did love to hear that
from from some of the guys. And no names will
be dropped here because I do it.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
But you made a good point, Nicole, because that kid's
got to have in his head now a little bit.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
So think about it.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Through his whole career, think that everything's gone through, No,
like starting from high school? Have you got drafted, the
COVID year, the injury.
Speaker 7 (31:07):
I mean, it's the belief of your coaches means something
to you, and this shows a lack of belief.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
And again we don't know the details.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
We don't know what they're saying to him, like why
he's not playing, why he's.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
I don't think there's anything wrong with him going to
the UFL. I know he said to drop down, But
if I knew I was Trey Lance and I knew
the UFL and prove myself and now I have a
starting position, what's wrong with that?
Speaker 6 (31:26):
I mean it's a I know it's a drop down,
but it is a no.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
We can acknowledge it is a Typically it's the worst
case scenario for a lot of players, but in his situation,
depending on what happens here at Dallas, I do agree.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
Like an NFL roster, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (31:44):
No one has time to develop him the way that
he needs to develop, and if he's not getting that,
then I mean that might be something that he ends
up doing.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
But I don't want that for him.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
I want somebody to take them under his wing, their wing.
Speaker 6 (31:56):
And pour into him. But also too, let's keep it
a buck.
Speaker 7 (32:00):
Didn't help how they did it either, because how you're
gonna bring it a whole nother quarterback and you don't
talk to you after your starting quarterback or your head
coach about them?
Speaker 6 (32:08):
They didn't. No one was informed.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
So who knows that Mike McCarthy was ready to develop
another quarterback because that's how it happened.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
I mean, we kind of already know that they weren't
prepared to do that. They were developing Will Gear. Will
Greer had an incredible preseason game that last year. That's
what they had been preparing for. And that Trey Lancing
was dropped on them what the day before he got.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
And he got injured because Will Geer was out performing
Cooper Rush. Remember he was out performing Cooper Rush. He
got injured and that's when it kind of opened up
the door for Cooper Rush to retake the spot. But
essentially Jerry and those guys decided to bring Trey Lance here,
and with the coaching staff not agreeing to not being
(32:51):
ready for that, it was shocking I remember Dak's interview.
He was like, yeah, I was surprised, like and not that,
not that Trey Lance threatens him, but it's still like
Mike McCarthy has his QB school and everything, Mike McCarthy's
been pouring into Doak Prescott. How much time does Mike
McCarthy have to pour into a quarterback.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
That he doesn't even know.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
Yeah, And the thing is, I don't even think a
team necessarily needs to pour into him, per se, anything
different than what they would normally put into a quarterback.
I think he just needs reps. He needs to go
to a team just where maybe they're rebuilding anyway, and
he has an opportunity to get in there and actually
lead an offense where they actually like his style of play.
Because that was another weird thing about the forty nine ers.
(33:32):
They start talking about rock Party like, oh, he's such
a good fit, and I'm like so and their styles
are different. So I'm like, okay, So there's no way
that Trey Lance was like what was your plan? I
don't know what it was, but he needs to go
into a situation where maybe they're rebuilding. There's not so
much at State because that was something else about the
forty nine ers, and something else about the Cowboys was
that they were both looking to actually yet those to
(33:53):
the playoffs, get to the super Bowl. And I do
think there are teams out there where they don't have
those sort of expectations right now, and there will be
room for him to go in, get to know his offense,
get to know those coaches, and actually get reps. It
doesn't have to be like the super special project and
all this special stuff they don't normally do. Just give
him some actual chances in an offense that makes sense
for him.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
The nerve of the a team comes to mind. And
I'm just sitting here thinking, like the fact the Raiders,
the nerve of them, the nerve of them, like y'all
need help.
Speaker 6 (34:22):
That would be a perfect.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Spot for him.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
They want your door. I've already said that where.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
They picking it?
Speaker 7 (34:27):
Stop?
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Let me go.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
Look and Tom Brady are closed, so.
Speaker 6 (34:31):
There might not be there what they picking? Where do y'all?
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Where do y'all think the quarterback position ranks amongst all
the other positions that need to be evaluated in the offense, no,
as on the team as a whole.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
Where would y'all evaluated for what for.
Speaker 6 (34:49):
Twenty twenty five, You need to get it. A lot
of these guys are on the contract. You've got twenty six.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Dang right, twenty six.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
It's probably the least that they were.
Speaker 7 (35:01):
They probably just gonna say forget it and then just
bring back Hooper Rush and go back.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
They literally do it. Is the easy thing to do.
Speaker 7 (35:08):
Is the way it is something that becomes something they
don't have to think about. It's just it's gonna be
what it is. I personally think you can upgraded back
up quarterback just me. I think it's about that time.
But cheat their own, they're just gonna they're just gonna
be like Coop Rush, You're gonna play again.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
And defensive line is probably the area that needs the
most evaluation.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
It's probably the least important.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
I like to get out the ride out too.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
I beg of thee yea, I beg if they need
to figure out that, like wide receiver two on down,
who they keeping who's going so yeah d line on
what you said, wide receiver one of those.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
This off season is scary, y'all.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
It's crucial. It's a lot.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
What I don't listen to all the song I know?
Speaker 4 (38:50):
Think, Yes, that's what I know.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Look look for look for the songs where he has
other people featured, because like, if you don't listen to him,
like sometimes his original his solo, I don't know me,
he said. But like the songs where he's got like
other artists featured, are a little bit more tempered. It
might be a good introduction to Tyler the Creator. So
there's a song called thought I Was Dead featuring school
Boy Q and some other people.
Speaker 6 (39:13):
Thought I was dead.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Yeah, I thought I was dead. I really liked that song. Yeah,
so that's a good start. I was dead.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
I thought I was the theme song of the show
with the game, with this game coming up.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Sorry, I know here.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
I texted my dad and I said, oh my god,
President Jimmy Carter died. He goes yeah, and the Cowboys
did too.
Speaker 6 (39:34):
It was right after the game. Oh my god, I
said the door, I.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Said, Dan, you can't say that he was mad the Door.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
The creator featuring school Boy c I'm crying.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
Actually, that's Jall.
Speaker 5 (39:52):
She made me think of it.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
I feel like it's Tom.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
H oh, what is this?
Speaker 2 (39:58):
It's Tom, y'all know with time.
Speaker 5 (40:02):
So we listen and we no, I'm not gonna do that,
all right, So we're not gonna do it. We're doing it.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I've never got it, so, you know Friday trend.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
It's like, we listen and we don't just.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Say it together, and then you gotta say, like this
bold statement.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
I've done a lot of.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
It could be about the matchup, it could be about
the team, the status of the team. It can be
about a player individually. It could be about the coaching staff.
I don't don't you gotta be there's.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
So much okay, bold boy, Yeah, are you a ready?
I don't want to start so.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
No matter, I'll do this.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
I'll do the little spending.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
That doesn't count, gonna say, don't concus the pointed that you, Jazz.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Or Nicole, one of y'all.
Speaker 5 (40:51):
I gotta go.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
All right, here we go one two, we live and
we don't.
Speaker 7 (41:02):
Jogh, I really didn't think this is through.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
I'm gonna go, hm the Sorry Boys, the Cowboys are
I want to do to Actually, I'm gonna do too.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
Sorry, that's fair there.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
The Cowboys are gonna beat the Commanders at home.
Speaker 6 (41:29):
I like that, mm hmm by three.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
But my second one is the Cowboys are going to
prioritize signing ric O'Dell.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
I like this off season listen and we don't. I was,
I was agreed, Yeah, I like it. Who wants Are
you sure we listen?
Speaker 7 (41:53):
We don't do the sound I got, I got, We
listen and we don't. Somehow, some way, the Cowboys ain't
gonna be able to move the ball, and they're gonna move.
They're gonna take Brandon I retail out there and he
finally gonna get to kick that seventy million yard field
goal and he gonna make it?
Speaker 5 (42:11):
You say, somehow, some way, like we haven't seen what
happens when they can't.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
Move the ball. That's what I was saying.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
Well, I guess it might be different since like if
we still have the ball to kick it, that means
it wasn't given to.
Speaker 7 (42:22):
That and it's gonna be inside. He's gonna he's gonna
finally make it.
Speaker 6 (42:27):
But what's he gonna kick?
Speaker 7 (42:29):
I think, what what's the longest one seventy eight fifty eight?
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Because it NFL record?
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Tucker talking about the record, I thought you were talking about.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
But some people been wanting to see him hit a
seventy and he kicked it.
Speaker 7 (42:45):
It had enough lego, but it was outside. So I
say that that happens inside at at and t.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
S maybe that's how they'll win by three. Three.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yeah, it's all coming together. Listen, Judge, Okay, I'm gonna
stay with Rico. Is he two hundred and sixty nine
yards shy one thousand yard season?
Speaker 6 (43:12):
Isn't it something he killed that he killed last week?
Speaker 7 (43:16):
Is it last week?
Speaker 5 (43:16):
That?
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Okay? So he'd be a thousand Okay, I say he's
gonna go for another one hundred yards okay, okay, because
they're going to establish that run and they're going to
beat the Redskins by seven.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (43:28):
And then for this for going into next season, they're
gonna get their s together and they're gonna do maybe
play some part in free agency, and they're gonna win
the division and they're gonna get to the NFC championship.
Speaker 5 (43:42):
That's that's out of faith.
Speaker 7 (43:44):
The division never judge, and fairness, the division never repeats. Here.
Speaker 5 (43:48):
Yeah, I'm gonna we haven't they actually doing.
Speaker 6 (43:53):
I just think that this is like a wake up call, y'all.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
So I think they're gonna I know you're looking at
me all crazy.
Speaker 6 (43:57):
No, we listen. We doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
I believe it. Listen and we don't judge.
Speaker 5 (44:06):
Uh, Cooper is gonna have like five interceptions.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
That's about dark.
Speaker 6 (44:16):
We listen. We don't know, came down. I tried to.
We don't. We said it together, y'all. We listen and
we don't judge.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Okay, So immediately after a take off, sorry, I'm sorry, keep.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
Going to get more to it, like then Trey Lance
is gonna come in and like change it up.
Speaker 5 (44:40):
Yeah, you know what about Lance is gonna gonna get
a touchdown pass.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
He comes in second half and changes it up.
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Not tomorrow. What am I saying this weekend?
Speaker 6 (44:51):
It's a lot.
Speaker 7 (44:52):
I had another one, but go go, we listen and
don't judge. Yes, I think we finally see du Vaughan
act that.
Speaker 4 (45:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
There we's been. It's been thirty them days now.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
Spent forever.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Jonathan Mingo is gonna get a couple of targets and
finally we can see what he can do and get
get in the end zone.
Speaker 6 (45:11):
We ain't gonna know what that means. That's next year.
I ain't even job judging. I ain't gonna know what
he ain't. Don't know nothing about that man.
Speaker 9 (45:19):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
Can we figure out what's going on.
Speaker 7 (45:22):
He's gonna be there for decoration until until we find out.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
He needs a quarterback. He needs a real quarterback. He's
not a runner.
Speaker 5 (45:30):
It's important. Like they just dropped him in the office,
so like, give him some time to marinate.
Speaker 6 (45:37):
Survivor.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
Let's hope the Cowboys tighten up in the season.
Speaker 6 (45:42):
It's a fun show.
Speaker 7 (45:43):
It's gonna be I think the game is gonna be
more competitive than what we think.
Speaker 6 (45:47):
I think so, because even those guys.
Speaker 7 (45:49):
That if they do make it a glorified preseason game,
those guys trying to make their money too.
Speaker 5 (45:56):
So I think it'll be. It's just hard to predict
because we don't know who's gonna be on the.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
We don't know anything.
Speaker 5 (46:01):
It's twelve o'clock two.
Speaker 6 (46:03):

could be a factor. Your shades, Dallas shade. All right,
let's top a go.
